Yoga and Meditation for Actors
Actors often report that auditions can be among the most stressful and important experiences of their professional lives. As actors our bodies are our instruments. And just like a Steinway piano requires proper tuning and alignment prior to performance, so do we require such alignment and tuning as actors. This course explores how to dwell consistently in your own individual power, and how to speak and act from that dimension in auditions.

Testimonials
I had the opportunity to enroll in Presenting Yourself: Acting Begins with Being with Gloria Mann, and it proved to be the most unique and comprehensive acting experience I've ever taken. Gloria's approach is not only an acting class, but a study in how to live a fuller, more complete life. Through the combination of mindfulness meditation, expressive practices and yoga, my ability to fully receive and respond to my fellow actors expanded exponentially. Through Gloria's absolute dedication to her craft, I felt welcome and free to break through my own personal barriers and grow as an artist.
-Christopher Trepinski, NYC-based actor
I had the fortune to be introduced to advanced acting class through Gloria Mann's Presenting Yourself: Acting Begins with Being. Coming from a foreign country and trying to find a good teacher to help you grow as an actor can prove challenging. Gloria knows and understands what an actor goes through when working on his craft in a place as loud and busy as NYC. She insists that mindfulness be a part of every actor’s life and I couldn’t agree more. Not only has this improved my acting skills but it has also helped me in many other angles of my personal life, and I couldn’t be more thankful to her.
-Irving González, NYC-based actor
As an actor, I've found it imperative that I warm up my instrument -- which for actors is our bodies and voice. I believe that Yoga for Actors is necessary because it frees us of tension and allows for the work to flow through us more readily. Gloria Mann is a beautiful actress and a fantastic yoga teacher because she understands the ways an actor needs to relax their minds and bodies, making her practice something to cherish.
-Jenna Williams, NYC-based actor
Gloria Mann is a consummate master-teacher. Her vast experience as an actor is united with her thorough understanding of the practice of yoga. I can also think of no one who is better suited to bring the value of mindfulness practice - in all its forms - to the world of auditioning and performance. Gloria is the right person, at the right time, if you find yourself open to growing as an actor and a human being.
